One year ago today I started Pictures and Plane Tickets. My, how the year has flown! When I began my blog, I was very hesitant; I wondered how people could possibly come up with things to write about each day, and I had doubts about if what I had to say was important enough to broadcast it on the internet.
While we were in Maui on our honeymoon, my husband kept saying, “See you could blog about ‘this adventure’,” or “that restaurant was so good, you should start a blog and write some reviews.” He was always so encouraging about my writing. My mom also jumped on board and kept encouraging me to write about my adventures.
So, about six months later, I decided to jump in with both feet. I knew that I wanted to write about traveling and I figured, if anything, at least I was creating a story about my adventures so one day I can look back at how much fun I’ve had throughout the years. I was mainly writing for myself, to have a creative outlet, and to bring more meaning to the adventures that I would go on.
I never thought about the connections that I would make with other amazing people around the world. I never thought that people would actually be interested in what I had to write about and that I would meet so many interesting people. While I still write for my creative outlet, I also write to connect with my readers; to share stories and ideas, and perhaps make a new friend or two along the way.
Today, I want to thank my readers who follow daily, and who share their thoughts and ideas as well. If it weren’t for you guys actively reading and commenting, blogging would not have the significance and value that I associate with it.

I can’t believe its already been a full year. I’m so proud of you and what you’ve been able to accomplish. I can’t believe how great a writer you are. I love finding out new things about you and you surprise me everyday. Keep up the great work I love you and will always be here to support you and your dreams and even help make as many of them possible

I felt the exact same way when I started blogging. I worried that I’d run out of things to say, or that what I had to say wouldn’t be of interest to anyone at all. What I have loved most is all the connections I’ve made and the blogging buddies I have met. It’s really a community. Keep up the great stuff, I’m a new follower and have loved reading so far.
