Bucket List

I love learning about different destinations around the world and in my free time I’ll daydream about trips to countries we have no intention of immediately visiting. I created a Bucket List years ago to organize my dreams of traveling the world and over the years our Bucket List has served as a travel “road map” for our many adventures keeping us focused on our dreams and goals.

Oftentimes, whenever I cross off one destination from my Bucket List, I find myself adding another three that have been on my radar. 😉 And whenever I begin the planning process for our next adventure I turn to my Bucket List for inspiration. Scroll down to read about our completed Bucket List adventures, and along the way, check out what is coming up:

  1. Love your bucket list. See https:// sportsandtravelblog.wordpress.com/2017/08/16-my-30-plus-teams-bucket-list-all- 150 – of – them. I’ve done two of them, visiting the Mother Seton House in Baltimore and walking on one of the Three Sister’s bridges in Pittsburgh .

  2. My bucket list includes many of the same things

    – become an A-list celebrity
    – go skydiving
    – hike the highest mountain
    – Find true love
    – start a family
    – visit all 50 states

    and many more

        1. That is so sweet of you to say… we feel very lucky to be able to travel as often as we do, although, my life has had many ups and downs, just like everyone else. 🙂
My husband and I both work full-time, however, we try to sneak away on adventures often. Even if it’s just a weekend getaway. We make sure to budget our money and our vacation time and save as much as we can in order to travel as often as we can. 🙂

  3. Fantastic! It took me too many years and too many to-do lists (along with two deaths) to realize life is so short and I don’t want to miss a minute! Thanks for stopping by and I am very interested in following your adventures!

    1. Thank you! I’m happy to have you here. 🙂 Life is so short and my biggest fear is not having enough time to experience and see all that I dream of. I wish you the very best in living your life to the fullest! ❤

  4. Wow thats a great list and congrats on getting some done. Thanks for liking my bucket list post too.

  5. This is indeed an amazing bucket list and I almost share all your wishes except that haunted house part O_o. I am very easily spooked :\
Just last year I had been on an incredible trip to Europe and I realised with a jolt that places like Paris,Italy etc. are addictive!!! You end up wishing if you had an apartment in these places so you can go and live there when you want to!!! ❤ I even designed my own city with my favorite travelgasms 😀 would love if you checked it out 🙂

Between you have one more follower 🙂 I heart your posts 🙂

    1. Thanks so much for your sweet words! 🙂 Happy to have you here with me! My husband isn’t too fond of the haunted one either… I might have to tell him after we visit that the place we stayed at was haunted 😉 haha! (I’m only kidding of course).
I totally agree about wishing for an apartment somewhere else in the world. I always try to envision what a normal day would be if I were to live in Paris or Rome or Oslo. It’s fun to think about. 🙂
Good luck in completing the items on your bucket list.
      xoxo!

  6. so glad to have found your blog today (thanks for liking one of my posts!) you’ve got some gorgeous adventures under your belt! awesome pics! can’t wait to follow along more!

  7. Hi there! Thanks for stopping by my blog! I just followed yours and hope you follow back. This post is really inspiring. Ive been wanting to create a bucket list but fear is getting in the way. Fear of failing to fulfill those plans and dreams. But I’m trying to get my head around the idea. 🙂 Looking forward to more of your posts! See you around. 🙂

    1. Thanks for stopping by. 🙂 My advice to you would be to start small… start with goals that you know you will be able to accomplish and then let the momentum carry you on to bigger and better dreams! I wish you luck in all that you want to accomplish! xoxo

  8. Hey Krystle – loved reading your bucket list and seeing the pictures. We’re on a trip ticking off some of ours and are in Tahiti right now! Do visit Bora Bora as the lagoon is second to none, but we thought the over-water bungalows were overpriced and overrated. We stayed in a small pension with the same views and beaches as some of the bungalows. If you’re in to adventure I would recommend finding somewhere less touristy and “over-done” ….. Grace x

    1. Hi Grace,
Thanks for the tips. We have just 11 months until Tahiti (but who’s counting) 😉 I think we’ll be doing a little island hopping around the French Polynesia in order to see a few different islands while we are there. Thank you so much for the tips.
      Have a great day!!

  9. Great bucket list, we obviously have something similar as on our cruise in the next 3 months we visit 5 of them.

  10. Krystle, thank for for stopping by my site and hitting the ‘like’ button. Your blog is very amusing, and to be honest I am a bit jealous. I have the itch…the desire to travel but I am married to a very practical, overly busy, guy from Iowa who has no sense of travel. All he sees is dollar signs and details. I suppose I will have to live vicariously through you, and hope that along the way you can give me some tips on how to travel.

    1. Hi Lindsay,
Thanks for stopping by and for your sweet words about my little blog! 🙂 I’ve had the itch for a while too and we do our best to make travel happen as much as possible. Practical is good, I’m always crunching numbers and planning out the details too, but the itch grows stronger with each and every trip. 🙂
I have some posts about some money saving tips and tricks when we travel, check out this link:
      https://picturesandplanetickets.wordpress.com/category/budgeting/
If you ever have questions don’t hesitate to reach out and I’ll do my best to help. 🙂 in the meantime, welcome! I’m so happy to have you here! 🙂

  11. Hi Krystal! Funny that the “Watch the sunset in Santorini, Greece” item you previewed in your Updated Bucket List post is the holiday we just booked yesterday for end of June, as we continue checking off our 100 Bucket List items.

Your Hawaii posts have meant we need to add to ours. I suppose we don’t need to limit it to just 100, right?!!!

    1. Jealous!! 😉 I will have to read all about it when you get back. Have some fun for me too, please! And Hawaii is a MUST for any bucket list. I’m glad I could inspire you to go, it’s one of our favorite places on Earth. 100 is an amazing starting point, but I think limits are meant to be pushed! 😉
      Have a great day!

  12. I’m glad you liked my bucket list blog so that I found yours! I’ll have to do another blog down the road that is more extensive- you inspired me with your beautiful creative list! If you go back to St. Lucia be sure to pike Gran Piton- well worth the effort!

    1. Hi! Happy to have you here. Thanks for the nice words about my bucket list.. 🙂 there are always new adventures being added. I would love to hike the Pitons. Hopefully one day we will go back and can stay at Jade Mountain… I should add that resort to the bucket list! 😉 Have a great day.

  13. G’day Krystle,
Thanks for stopping by my blog, Born to Travel. Loved the bucket list idea for a post but more importantly totally impressed with your presentation!
Make sure you get to stay in an overwater bungalow. We stayed in one at Le Meridien on Bora Bora seven years ago. Just fantastic!
As I’m a bit older have been able to do many of the things on your list but going to Santorini in still on both our lists.
Also on our list is the northwest of (our country) Australia, Japan, Vietnam, Cambodia, Alaska, Galápagos Islands, Tanzania, Spain and Portugal. My wife Karen has Iceland and Borneo, to see the orang-utans, on hers. We are off to Fiji and France later this year. So much to see and only one lifetime to do it in!
Keep on travelling and enjoying your adventures.
    -Mark

    1. Hi Mark,
I appreciate your kind words about my blog. It’s a lot of work some days, but I really enjoy it, so it’s easy to have the hours pass me by while working. 🙂
Thanks for your advice on the overwater bungalow. I’m hoping that my husband and I will be able to make that happy for our five year anniversary next June… only 15 more months of watiting 😉 I’ll have to check out Le Meridien as one of our options.
Your list sounds exciting, good luck in crossing off each and every destination. I really want to dive in Australia some day soon. And if you get to Santorini before I do, enjoy that sunset for me 🙂
      Have a great day!

  14. Thanks for liking my blog, though it seems like we’re of opposite minds as your “bucket list” is very FULL! Happy travels – Sue

    1. Hi Sue,
Thanks for stopping by. I appreciated reading a different perspective to a “bucket list” and your post was very well written. 🙂
I definitely agree that it’s important to live in the moment and appreciate all of the daily blessings in each of our lives.
For me, I try to find a delicate balance of living in the moment and being grateful for every single day, while also trying to make the most of the life I’ve been given by exploring the beautiful world around me.
      Have a wonderful day!

  15. It’s great to read your blog and in some ways live vicariously through your adventures….with two kids, it’s not as easy to travel 🙂 So, I’ll look forward to your next post!

    1. Glad to have you here, Christina! Thanks for reading. We have a lot more adventures in Maui to cover and then it’s on to some local adventures around Utah. After that, we will be exploring beautiful and tropical Thailand, the land of smiles. 🙂 Can’t wait to have you along for the ride!

    1. Hey! Thanks! 🙂 When I was in school I only traveled on breaks and in the summer. The destinations were definitely closer to home but I still tried to cram it in as much as possible. Hopefully once you graduate you can live the life of travel that you want! Have a fabulous day!

  16. Hi Krystle,

Finally had a chance to check out your blog, you’ve done a great job with it! Way to go picking out all of these great adventures, keep up the good work. I particularly enjoyed the Hawaii posts since they are the most relevant to me at the moment. Really wonderful photography too by the way. Thanks for having a look at my blog and taking the time to like it also.

Best of luck with the Bucket List!!

    Orin

    1. Hi Orin,
Thanks for stopping by. I feel like my list of Adventures is always growing, but I’m not complaining. 😉 The only problem I’m having is having enough time to fit in all of the fun. 🙂 Have a great day!

  17. When you plan the Grand Canyon trip, add in two weeks for the parks in southern Utah and Four Corners area, which I think is the most scenic part of the country (and I’ve been all over the west).
You saw one Bryce canyon photo when you stopped by my blog today, but you can see two sets of southern Utah photos at my travel photo site and maybe check out some other places I’ve been to for possibly adding to your bucket list::

    http://www.ditona-beach.net/jpg

I’m going to add you to my blog roll….

    1. Hi there! 🙂
Thanks for the addition! I appreciate that!!
So, can I admit something to you? I live in Utah and have not yet been to the famous Parks within the State. It’s on my “list” (Zions, Bryce, Canyonlands, Four corners) but we’ve yet to go… I’m hoping that we might get a chance to go this fall, but we’re still trying to figure it all out. I will definitely stop by your blog and read more about your adventures. I’m excited to see your photos. 🙂
      Have a great day!

    1. Hi Kate!
That’s awesome! I have found that if I write it down I have a greater chance of making it become a reality. I can’t wait to read your list! 🙂

  18. I love your bucket list. Thanks for liking my blog here2where and thus leading me to your site. On your Alaska wilderness bucket list item, you might want to go to my site and drop down the National Parks tab to my page on Gates of the Arctic. That’s an amazing Alaska wilderness and that page is about our terrific trip there. I’m looking forward to following your adventures.

  19. Thanks for liking my “Bucket List” post! I checked out your blog and love it! I’m also a huge fan of travel and adventure, so I look forward to seeing some of yours 🙂

    1. Thanks for stopping by! I love reading about other’s bucket lists, it’s always fun to see what other people want to do, and it gives me some good ideas to add to my list as well.

  20. Thanks for the comment Krystle! Looking through your Bucket List, it’s exciting to see that “Scuba Diving in Turks and Caicos” was on there. We were fortunate enough do that while on vacation last week and I highly recommend it. 🙂

    1. I’m excited to read about your T&C vacation! I’ve been following along on your adventure so far! I love the idea of renting a home on vacation. You give yourself so much more room to spread out and relax with a home rather than a hotel room! Thanks for stopping by.

  21. can i ask a question? I just started a blog here how can i add links like u have at the top of the blog where it says travel map, bucket list ect?

    1. Hi there. Thanks for stopping by. On the left hand side of your dashboard you have the option to add a page and it will place the links at the top of the main page. If you want to add drop down menus, you can add a page and then change the page attributes (off to the right hand side) to add it under a parent page. Does that make sense? Let me know how it goes. Hope to see you around! 🙂

  22. great bucket list!! you have definitely inspired me to dedicate a page to my bucket list so i get reminded more often!!

    1. Thank you! I love looking at the list and thinking about what else I can add, and when I can check certain ones off. I’m checking off two of them next week! I can’t wait! 🙂

    1. Thanks for reading! I highly recommend a bucket list, they are fun! The fjords look beautiful, don’t they?! It has always been a dream of mine to see them up close! Have a great day!

  23. Great list! Can I stay at the haunted hotel too? I actually stayed on the Delta King in Sacramento once. It is an old river boat. I woke up in the morning when I heard the water turn on in the bathroom. Not just a trickle, but full blast. Then it turned off. I wonder who I was sharing the room with? Thank you for the like on my blog! –Barb

    1. Thanks for sharing some locations on your bucket list. I think it would be so amazing to jump right into the ocean from your bungalow, and you probably couldn’t find better views!

  24. I am really looking forward to your entry on staying a night in a haunted location…. get on that one right away!

I have been lucky to tick a lot off my bucket list but next up for us will be Australia, Bora Bora, Moorea, Papeete and then back to Hawaii for more fun on the Islands…. so much to see, so many places to go, so little time to fit it all in so just keep ticking away!

    1. My husband is not too excited about that item on my list. 😉 Good thing he’s a trooper and is willing to go with me. I hope to cross it off soon, the Stanley Hotel is not too far away from where I live.
I am SO jealous about your next adventure. That sounds amazing. I can’t wait to see pictures and read about your travels. As always, thank you for reading!

  25. There are so many places to travel!!!!
    My bucket list:
    – NZ South Island (hopefully in June/July this year!), it apparently looks exactly like Middle Earth!
    – Egypt & Israel
    – Germany (heritage reasons)
    – Scotland & Ireland (heritage reasons and I love The Cranberries)
    – New York!
    – The Amazon!
    – Morocco!
    – India!
    – France!

    SO MANYYYY!!!

    1. Nikolestaats, I like your bucket list! Thanks for sharing. I like how there are so many diverse places on your list. I am looking forward to reading about your NZ trip soon!

  26. Hmmm…Italy, Ireland, Bermuda, Australia. Would love a repeat of Paris, and New Zealand, and can never get enough of Hawaii, the Northwest coast, and beaches in general. Would love to do the Northeast in leaf season, and the Outer Banks. That’s my short list! ~ Sheila

    1. Love the bucket list, Sheila. Thank you for sharing. I’ve always wanted to travel to the Northeast during the fall as well. It looks so beautiful. I love Hawaii, what’s your favorite island?

      1. Of the three islands we’ve visited, my favorite has to be Kauai, so far! I’m sure I need to do a lot more research to confirm that! That’s actually one of my biggest travel dilemmas: where to spend time/money? Repeating trips to places you already love, or branching out to try the new and unexplored? I tend to want to repeat, my husband always wants new!

        1. I love Kauai! It is so beautiful and not as touristy. Maui is my second favorite 🙂 Sheila, I have that same travel dilemma. I’m relieved to know that I’m not the only one!

  27. We have so much on our bucket list. Go back to the Virgin Islands (only been to St Thomas so far), Greece, Spain, Ireland, Amsterdam, Italy, Niagara Falls, California, visit all 50 states (been to 38 so far), New Orleans, Hawaii, Alaska. Those are all the major ones, but I’m sure I could think of more!

    1. Thank you for sharing your bucket list, Clare. My husband really wants to go to Ireland as well. Hawaii is so beautiful, one of my favorite places on Earth. Your list sounds awesome! What is your favorite state that you have traveled to so far?

  28. Crystal, that is a fabulous bucket list! When we plan our trip to St. John we will for sure let you know. We should go to New Orleans together and go to Mardi Gras. That would be a blast!

  29. OUR BUCKET LIST:

    New York City
    Maui
Jamaican Islands (any & all of ’em!)
    Italy
    Bahamas
    Turks/Caicos
    New Orleans
    Tahiti

  30. We still totally want to do that St. John Virgin Island trip! For sure let us know when you guys are planning on going and we’ll see if we can do it or not! 🙂 ♥
