Hawaii in a Glass: My Blue Hawaii

Happy Aloha Friday my friends!

In my last Aloha Friday post (months ago) I shared my Perfect Mai Tai recipe, and today I’m sharing another favorite drink recipe brought to you straight from the islands. Not only do I love the beautiful color of this drink as it reminds me of the ocean, but the flavors within the drink capture the essence of paradise.

Leilani's Blue Hawaii-1

The Blue Hawaii

Ingredients:

  • 1 ounce of Light Rum (I used Coconut Rum)
  • 3/4 ounce of Vodka
  • 1 ounce of Blue Curacao
  • 1 ounce of Sweet and Sour Mix
  • 3 ounces of Pineapple Juice

Instructions:

Mix all ingredients and then pour over ice. Garnish with a pineapple slice, umbrella, or plumeria flower.

You can also make a blended version of the drink by adding cream of coconut, ice, and a blender.

I love simple, easy-to-make drink recipes so this one is right up my alley. It did take a few different recipes to find one the that I liked best, so hopefully you’ll like it too. This one goes out to my best friend, Crystal. Happy birthday darling!

So…who’s coming over for a cocktail? Enjoy your weekend!

Aloha!

  1. Hmm…it’s breakfast time here and I’m still in my PJs just contemplating getting out there in the kayak on a very hot summer’s day. Could use one of these when I get back.
