We had only three basic requirements for our stay in Turks & Caicos: 1) We had to spend a day under water and go scuba diving, 2) we absolutely had to stay on Grace Bay Beach (no exceptions), and 3) there would be some partaking of rum punch (when in Rome the Caribbean).
I began researching places to stay last fall and eventually narrowed our choices down to three resorts. Shortly after, I received an email from Islands.com sharing the lucrative travel deals available on Black Friday and one of my top resort choices (Ocean Club West) was on the list and offering 30% off their already reduced room rate — needless to say, I did a little Black Friday shopping.
Located in the heart of Grace Bay, Ocean Club West is a condominium resort, and if you’ve been a reader for a while, you already know that this type of accommodation is my favorite. From Maui, to Kauai, to Washington, and beyond, we love staying in condos for the extra space it provides as well as the many of the conveniences of home (hello full kitchen and washer and dryer!).

OCW offers a variety of rooms, from intimate studios up to spacious three bedroom suites — just incase your extended family decides to come along as well (that’s a hint for next time, pops!) ;-). Full of Caribbean charm, lush landscaping, tennis courts, an incredible pool, an onsite restaurant, and that famous white sand beach as a backdrop, this resort packs a punch — for the record, so do the delicious frozen concoctions at the resort bar. Also available are bbq grills, bicycles, paddleboards, and kayaks free for all guests to use. Oh, and lest I forget the relaxing hammocks near the beach.
Ocean Club West’s sister resort, Ocean Club, is also conveniently located along Grace Bay beach, and I recently noticed that OCW offers an All-Inclusive option for those interested. I personally appreciated the fact that this option isn’t mandatory.
After days spent adventuring around the island, OCW was the ideal place to relax. We split our time between the picture-perfect beach and the swimming pool nestled in among the gorgeous landscaping, and the resort staff made sure that our time was spent without a care in the world.
Now, I want to share a little secret with you: the best part about Ocean Club West was the reasonable price tag. I about choked on my snorkel when I heard that some rooms on Grace Bay Beach go for over $2,000 a night. (No, that’s not a typo). Cody and I felt spoiled in our Junior Suite and with a price tag of just over $200 per night, I knew we were getting a steal.
The place looks gorgeous a real treat! You are the best at holiday shopping/hacking! If only I put as much effort in researching places as you do! 😀
It was so relaxing and beautiful. I couldn’t recommend it more. 🙂 I love finding good deals on travel, because then I can stretch my money and travel even more. 🙂 If you have a specific destination that you’re on the lookout for, I can keep my eyes out. Just send me an email. 🙂
