Travel Tips Thursday–Ladies, I need YOUR help!

Sorry gentlemen, I don’t mean to exclude you, but this post is specifically for my lovely ladies.

In light of my upcoming one year anniversary trip (we are traveling to the southern Caribbean next week, woohoooo! :)) I have gathered a collection of favorite vacation hair ideas. I like to look put together on vacation, while not using valuable vacation time spending hours in front of the bathroom mirror. And because I’m usually in and out of the ocean quite a bit throughout the day, I wanted to find some ideas that are easy to maintain. We all know that I would rather be on the beach enjoying a cocktail than fussing about my hair.

The classic side braid:

This look is my favorite because it’s so easy to achieve. And you can do your hair without even looking into a mirror. I alternate sides to switch it up.

The fishtail:

Doesn’t this look so pretty? I can’t wait to try it out. Read how to create this look here.

The Rope Braid:

Elle, from Elle Sees, shared an idea that I am excited to try. It’s called a Rope Braid and provides a fun alternative to the typical braid. Check out her awesome tutorial here.

The beach wave:

Most of my hair has a natural wave to it, I say most, because for some reason the top layer of my hair is completely straight. So that means I either have to do my hair curly or I have to do it straight. Luckily for me, when I’m on vacation in a high humidity location, my natural curl comes out, even on that stubborn top layer. Allowing my hair to do it’s natural thing is great because then I don’t have to do it. Adding a stylish hat or headband makes it look even better. 🙂

The Bun Braid:

I saw this look on Glamour.com, and while it’s a little more sophisticated for a beach ‘do, it seems easy enough to recreate for your beach day. Braid your hair into two braids and then create a bun. I’ve never thought about using this technique, however, it seems as thought the style would hold better in the water. And the best part, this look serves two purposes: it is great for the daytime, and then when you decide to put your hair down later on that day, you will have fabulous waves with little effort.

So ladies, what did I miss? What is your favorite vacation/beach hairstyle? I need all the help and advice that I can get! 🙂
